Christian Books Product Editor

Christianbook is looking for a full-time Christian Books Product Editor to join the Web Marketing team. This position is responsible for reviewing, editing, and improving product descriptions, details, and content with the goal of maintaining accurate and consistent product information. Additionally, this position will focus on merchandising and marketing these products on the company website as well as through emails.

This is a full-time salaried, non-management position, located at the Peabody, MA office. The work schedule will be from Monday through Friday, with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week. This is subject to change if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write copy for all general Christian book product lines, including Christian Living, General Christian Book, and more.
  • Create and maintain high-profile author pages and stores.
  • Manage book-specific stores and landing pages on Christianbook.com to ensure optimal presentation and visibility to increase customer engagement and generate revenue.
  • Be familiar with Christian and industry-wide Book Bestseller lists and understand current topics and trends in the Christian community.
  • Utilize web analytics tools to analyze customer behavior and sales data and make recommendations for best presenting product across the pages and stores.
  • Optimize product pages for search engines (SEO) to improve organic search visibility and drive traffic.
  • Create marketing emails that present new releases, highlight award winning titles, recognize holidays and current trends, and market general sales and deals.
  • Collaborate with buyers and publishers to best market new, upcoming, and trending titles.
  • Attend publisher meetings.
  • Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Search for additional vendor-provided marketing material to add to detail pages (videos, PDFs, etc.).
  • Upload images on the website in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with general marketing emails as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Christian books and authors desirable.
  • Comfortable with general computer, Microsoft and Adobe applications.
  • Ability to write concise, informative, and engaging on-brand copy.
  • Excellent writing and grammatical skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and techniques.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Punctual, reliable, and professional.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize tasks and follow-up when appropriate.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Team player with ability to make independent decisions as needed.
