Christianson Air Conditioning & Plumbing is currently seeking an entry-level professional and hard-working Payroll Administrator to join our Administration department at our headquarters in Round Rock, TX.
This position will be responsible for assisting in managing the accuracy of the payroll process to ensure the needs of our staff are captured timely and appropriately and is much more than just straight time-keeping. As a member of the Admin department, this position will provide quality customer service to, and work closely with, upper management and employees of all levels. Our Admin department is an integral part of the company – Everyone on the team must be willing & able to cross-train and fill each other’s roles when someone is out of the office - It is critical to our team’s success that we all work together collaboratively and supportively. Job Responsibilities:
-
Process and reconcile weekly payroll for both hourly and piece-pay employees.

Update paper and electronic payroll information relating to new hires, terminated employees, withholding allowances, pay rate changes, status changes, benefit deductions, payroll garnishments, and direct deposits. Determine pre-tax and post-tax deductions as required by company benefit policies

Handle requests, notifications, and payroll for vacation and unpaid leave as needed.

Collect and validate employee timesheets and payroll data. Review and compare data accuracy across multiple records.

Calculate wages, issue statements, and detail earnings.

Utilize company software and communicate with HR to track and monitor unpaid leave situations. Work closely with HR and upper management to ensure all leave cases are processed accurately through the timekeeping and payroll system

Ensure payroll is posted in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s fiscal philosophy and policies

Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or questions regarding payroll and timekeeping from employees and upper management including pay data, deductions, refunds, and garnishments.

Guarantee employees are compensated correctly and on time. Process manual checks as needed

Assist with written salary information on employment verification forms/provide verbal salary verifications from lending institutions, state agencies, and other organizations.

Perform general office tasks such as filing, scanning, answering phones, etc.
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Long-term Growth Potential through cross-training:
Accounts Payable processing & settling company financial obligations
Recording of cash receipts & reconciliation
General office administration
Helping to make sure employee-required licenses are up to date
General ledger reconciliations as needed
Assist with company 401K account administration
Processing the payment of company sales tax and weekly payroll taxes
Job Type: Full-time or Part-Time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Requirements
Requirements:

1 year of relevant experience in Payroll and/or Accounting. Familiarity with general accounting principles is preferred.

A minimum of 1 year experience in customer service is required

Experience in a construction-related industry and fluency in both English and Spanish are preferred, but not required
-
High School Diploma
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening and have reliable transportation
Ability to Commute: Round Rock, TX 78664 (Required)
