What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Radiology (Full-Time or Part-Time) position at Christie Clinic, PLLC?
Christie Clinic's Department of Radiology is seeking a full-time or part-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist(Sign-On Bonus Available) from Monday-Friday, 7 : 30am-5 : 00pm at the University and the Fields clinics.
As a qualifeid candidate, you will demonstrate clinical experience by performing a variety of Nuclear Medicine imaging duties. You must have the ablity to perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures including PET / CT to assist the Radiologist in the diagnosis of disease and ailments. The patient load in this department are high and the work is fast paced.
Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program, ARRT (NM) and IEMA required. Experience in an additional radiology modality preferred. Nuclear medicine experience and CT or X-Ray experience preferred.

- Greet patients with eye contact, introduce yourself, and verify correct patient by using proper patient identifiers.
- Verify correct ordering provider and exam.
- Explain exam and educate patients on procedure.
- Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, including but not limited to PET / CT, cardiac, abdominal, bone, thyroid, SPECT, and SPECT / CT imaging.
- Operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation.
- Draw up radiopharmaceutical material for administration to patients.
- Calibrate instruments and review date to detect trends that may indicate instrument malfunction.
- Select correct collimators for the exam.
- Process image date to include curves and reconstructed SPECT and SPECT / CT images.
- Monitor department for possible contamination of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Clean department daily / weekly for contamination.
- Work with Cardiology department to coordinate Cardiology studies.
- Perform EKG preparation, as needed.
- Start IV’s for injection of radiopharmaceuticals, as necessary.
- Administer thyroid therapy to patients, with radiologist supervision, as necessary.
- Greet patients and verify that all necessary preparation has been performed.
- Verify that the electronic medical record order is correct and make any necessary changes prior to imaging the patient.
- Evaluate clinical history and document all history in the EMR notes.
- Verify that the exam on the work list is the correct and that the accession number matches the number on the order.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of proper record keeping for all isotopes, returns, state requirements, etc.
- Recognize the need for additional imaging and consult with the Radiologist, as needed.
- Send images to PACS and verify that they are correct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Completion of an accredited nuclear medicine program with associated certificate or degree.
- New graduates will be considered.

- Ability to demonstrate clinical experience performing a variety of nuclear medicine imaging.

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Lifting patients weighing up to 300 pounds and placing them in appropriate positions for the operation of radiological equipment is required. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20 / 20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
Work is performed in an outpatient environment.
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
