Christie Clinic's department of Ear, Nose and Throat(ENT) is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at our Bloomington on Empire clinic.
Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants must provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative medicine under the supervision of the physician. An Illinois state licensure, Illinois state controlled substance license, and CPR is required and master's degree is preferred.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients. Review patient records.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
- Perform a complete and/or focused physical exam and record findings. Establish presumptive diagnosis if needed.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Administer injections, immunizations and/or oral medications. Suture wounds. Prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment instructions. Provide patient education.
- Assist physicians by recording patient progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders and transcribing orders.
- Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
- Perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Perform related work as required.
Requirements:
- Illinois State Licensure
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
- Illinois State controlled substance license
- Successful completion of a post basic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistants program
- Successful completion of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistants exam
- Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with frequent exposures to sharp objects, communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Requirements may include working weekends and/or irregular hours.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
