What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Service Representative - Float Team position at Christie Clinic, PLLC?
Christie Clinic's department of Floats is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative (Quarterly Bonuses Available) from Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment. Previous healthcare experience and Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate and/or graduation from an accredited program for medical assistants is preferred. This candidate must be able to travel to all Christie Clinic locations within a 60-mile radius of Champaign, Illinois with reimbursement for mileage and travel time (per IRS guidelines).
Quarterly bonus opportunity available for team members in good standing after 90 days of employment with the Float Team.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional and courteous manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to promptly answer a high volume of phone calls and schedule patient appointments with providers.
- Solicit customer feedback to improve service.
- Register new patients and address any financial issues regarding that patient.
- Provide check-in process for patients including verifying and updating necessary demographic and insurance information.
- Collect co-pays and payments as needed.
- Maintain provider schedules.
- Keep a neat and orderly work area.
- Verify and update necessary demographic information.
- Schedule tests, labs, etc. for the patient.
- Maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness.
- Maintain and balance payment drawer at end of day including cash, checks and charges.
- Attend a minimum of two monthly huddles (occurring after hours) per quarter.
- Perform related work as required.
- Travel to satellite Christie Clinic locations to cover departmental needs.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a medical office setting with frequent patient contact and exposure to communicable illnesses. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
