Christie Clinic's department of Neurology in Bloomington on Empire is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
Duties include greeting clinic patients upon arrival, assisting with the check in process, answering incoming phone calls, scheduling appointments and assisting with the rescheduling process. The receptionist will also serve as a liaison between patient and medical support staff.
Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional and courteous manner and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
- Demonstrate the ability to promptly answer a high volume of phone calls and schedule patient appointments with providers.
- Provide check-in process for patients.
- Verify and update necessary demographic information.
- Maintain provider schedules.
- Keep a neat and orderly work and lobby area.
- Maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness.
- Perform chart preparation according to department standards.
- Act as the liaison between Neurology and outside providers for patient referrals.
- Perform related work as required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in the reception area and involves frequent contact with patients. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
