What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - OB/GYN position at Christie Clinic, PLLC?
Christie Clinic's department of OB/GYN is seeking a full-time(40 hours/week) RN to work 4-10 hour shifts between the hours of Monday-Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm at the University Clinic, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing and possession of an Illinois State Registered Nurse License or Practical Nursing License(or in the process of obtaining) is required. Practical or professional nursing experience is preferred.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Administer prescribed medications, vaccines, injections, treatment, suture removals, etc. in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
- Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, procedures, examination and/or testing of the patient.
- Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns.
- Advise patients of labs/pathology reports and book appropriate follow up/treatment appointments.
- Provide patient education on medications, skin conditions, wound care, pathology/lab results, etc.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.
- Assist providers in procedures; such as biopsies, excisions, and closures.
- Monitor patients during procedures and provide after care.
- Complete worklist in timely manner.
- Manage nurse alert cart, attend nurse alert meetings and respond to nurse alerts, as needed
- Assist with the flow of patient appointments.
- Implement and nurture continuous quality improvement within and across the department.
- Capable of administering high risk medications/anesthetizing skin prior to procedures.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple providers and carry out orders.
- Perform related work as required.
- Track melanoma patients and post-transplant patients, report findings to co-coordinators
- Management of department medications including versed and medication fridge
- Assist in training new LPN/RN employees and report progress to co-coordinators
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or practical nursing
- Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU’s
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical/surgical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Ionizing radiation and medicinal preparations are also common. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
