Christie Clinic's department of Laboratory is seeking a full-time EKG Technician/Phlebotomist at the University clinic in Champaign between the hours of Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, with occasional Saturdays from 8:00am-12:00pm. This position will require occasional travel to other clinics to support the laboratory department.
Duties include the performance of phlebotomy and EKG testing and other related exams on patients according to established standards and practices. Provide general day to day supervision for the phlebotomy staff at the location.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 35 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
Typical Working Conditions
Work is performed in a laboratory setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases and electric hazards. Requirements may include working irregular hours.

- Team lead for phlebotomy and EKG
- Troubleshoot any phlebotomy and EKG issues at all lab locations.
- Trains new personnel on phlebotomy and EKG
- Provides feedback to employees on inadequate phlebotomy and EKG
- Perform standard phlebotomy and EKG and explain the procedure to patients.
- Prepare patient for EKG.
- Program machine and load paper.
- Attach electrodes on patient to specified areas. Remove and identify tracings.
- Deliver EKG to provider.
- Maintain records, file and trace information.
- Fill in as phlebotomist, as necessary.
- Perform related work as required.
