Why This Role Matters
Working from The Wine Cellarage in the Bronx, the primary function of this role is to run the day-to-day coordination of the wine warehouse effectively and efficiently, overseeing all processes relating to wine inventory management. In addition, the Wine Warehouse Supervisor will have regular communication with the Wine Department, the Post Sale team, and the Art Transport team to coordinate requests and resolve issues.
How You Will Make An Impact
Manage and control the flow of property throughout the warehouse, ensuring all items are barcoded and condition checked, and that all property movement is scanned and recorded accurately
Responsible for all inbound/outbound paperwork and subsequent filing required to deliver and collect from the warehouse
Maintain strong working relationships and ensure regular communication with Post-Sale, Art Transport, Specialist Departments and Inventory Analyst teams
Ensure inventory is updated accurately to reflect any discrepancies between physical stock and inventory systems
Oversee and manage basic shipping responsibilities such as generating FedEx labels and tracking shipments
Comfortable liaising and dealing with clients face to face in a post-sale pick up capacity
Pre-pull, unpack and assist with cataloging and/or photography to ensure a streamlined process is in place for maximum productivity
Responsible for the packing of property for shipping, ensuring adherence to document standards and best practices.
Manage daily operations of the warehouse including scheduling with key partners
Plan and book appropriate resources to support operational requirements
Oversee vendors/technicians while onsite and manage workflow
Ensure the warehouse is of a very high standard of cleanliness and organization, befitting the world’s leading wine auction business
Daily coordination across all areas to ensure the speedy execution of all requests
Maintain the security of the warehouse including segregation of property and access points
Monitor environmental conditions within the warehouses and immediately escalate issues
Ensure all Health & Safety initiatives are met within the warehouse environment
Cultivate development through timely completion of objectives, performance assessments, and communication of day-to-day expectations and improvements
Develop and implement any process improvements in conjunction with Management
Track and report key performance indicators as assigned by Manager
Other duties and projects as assigned by Manager
What You Will Bring To The Team
Minimum of 2 years of previous wine and spirit handling
Demonstrate a knowledge and interest in wine and spirits handling, packing and operations
Lifting, pushing, pulling, overall material handling
Ability to drive a forklift or willingness to be trained
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, including extensive walking throughout the facility
Ability to become proficient with Christie's JDE inventory system.
Good interpersonal, communications skills and sound business judgement.
Adheres to the highest levels of professionalism in all communications and interactions with client, colleagues, and business partners
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to perform normal filing activities
Manage confidential information with tact and discretion

Compensation Range
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
