Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification in Administration
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in the curricular area
- Master's Degree (as required by certification)
- Knowledge of state and national curriculum, instruction and assessment programs in the curricular area
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff, families and administrators
- Demonstrated experience as a teacher-leader
- Knowledge of curriculum-based and standardized assessments and the use of data to review and plan instruction
- Experience planning, providing and evaluating Professional Learning in the content area
- Proficient in the use of instructional technology
- Demonstrated leadership abilities

Christina School District is seeking a talented, motivated educator committed to advancing excellence in teaching, improving teacher quality, and assisting teachers, principals and central office staff in delivery and implementation of the Christina School District's Curriculum.
General Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and revise curriculum content, ensuring alignment with educational standards, learning objectives, and instructional best practices. Create and manage a collection of evidence-based lesson plans and resources for teachers; especially those designed to support both struggling students and high academic achievers. Integrate digital literacy and tech skills into teaching strategies. Oversee and manage curriculum adoption(s), curriculum based request for proposals (RFP), supplemental resources, material inventories, and plan for new hires.
- Instructional Design and Standards: Design instructional materials, including lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and multimedia resources, to support effective teaching and learning. Ensure that curriculum materials and instructional strategies align with local, state and national standards, and evidence-based educational practices. Support school and district based personnel including content coaches, instructional coaches, department chairs, team leads, para-professionals etc. to support effective teaching and learning.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, State Department of Education partners, content leaders in the field, curriculum vendors and other stakeholders to identify curriculum needs, gather feedback, and incorporate diverse perspectives into curriculum design. Facilitate ongoing two-way communication with school based content leaders, administration, instructional teams & committees, content and instructional coaches. Develop and facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) to support collaborative curriculum planning and implementation. Establishes and maintains community and family partnerships that enhance curriculum content understanding.
- Professional Development: Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for educators to support the effective implementation of curriculum materials and instructional strategies. These opportunities should be inclusive of, but not limited to, technology integration, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS), and character education, Delaware Teacher Growth and Support (DTGSS), student inquiry, and project-based learning. Additional professional development should address tailored teaching for diverse learners; specifically special education and MLL for accessible curriculum and support the integration of cultural competency and diversity awareness into curriculum content. Develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate a comprehensive Professional Development plan.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Develop/identify and curate assessment tools and evaluation criteria to measure student learning outcomes and assess the effectiveness of curriculum materials and instructional strategies. Facilitate the collection and reporting of data for reporting purposes to district, state and federal sources for the curricular area Serve as a resource, coach, and consultant for teachers seeking support with curriculum planning, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. Provide instructional leadership to successfully implement the district educational objectives, including full participation and credentialing in the Delaware Teacher Growth and Support System (DTGSS)
- Data Analysis and Plan Creation: Analyze data on student performance and curriculum implementation to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making processes. Participate in the creation of school improvement plans, leadership priority plans, and state and federal plans.
- Research, Innovation and Quality Assurance: Stay informed about current trends, research, and innovations in education and curriculum development to continuously improve curriculum materials and instructional practices. Ensure the quality, relevance, and accessibility of curriculum materials, including adherence to accessibility standards and cultural sensitivity.
- Communication: Communicate with stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, parents, and community members, to provide information about curriculum initiatives, gather feedback, and address concerns. Provide school board, CSD cabinet, and CSD teams and committees presentations and updates as necessary. Represents CSD through participation on local, state, higher education, state and national committees.
- Policy Compliance and Networking: Ensure compliance with relevant education policies, regulations, and guidelines in curriculum development and implementation. Build professional networks and collaborate with other curriculum specialists, educators, and organizations to share best practices and resources.

- Customized Pacing Guides that support Common Core State Standards and Delaware Recommended Curriculum
- Common Benchmark Assessments, End of Unit Assessments/Transfer Tasks, Assessment Prompts (Scoring Guides and Rubrics)
- Professional Learning Materials and Modules
- Develop rubrics for evaluating lessons and develop workshops to help teachers learn how to plan effective lessons
- Develop rubrics for evaluating submitted curriculum based assessments and develop workshops to support implementation
- Develop tools to measure the alignment of the written, taught, and tested curriculum
- Develop tools to measure the fidelity of implementation of content area curricula
- Facilitate PLC meetings or small groups to develop the prioritized curriculum units, acquisition lessons, assessments, and scoring guides.
