The IC coaches, teaches, supports coaching initiatives, designs and presents professional development, supports curricular initiatives, and works closely with the Principal to maximize teacher performance. The IC's success is ultimately determined by teachers' ability to drive high level student achievement.

Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification
- Certification in Special Education
- Five or more years successful teaching experience with students with disabilities (experience with moderate to severe disabilities is preferred)
- Experience developing and delivering various professional development i.e. seminars, workshops, facilitated work sessions, small groups, one on one coaching, and modeling lessons
- Ability to collaborate with staff and administrators
- Ability to assess training needs and work with individual teachers or teams of teachers to provide support, coaching, and feedback through reflective dialogue
- Demonstrated experience implementing systematic instructional strategies for use with students moderate to severe cognitive abilities as well as visual, hearing, orthopedic and other health impairments.
- Knowledge of Dynamic Learning Maps/ Alternate standards
- Knowledge of various curriculum and instructional materials designed for students with severe disabilities
- Knowledge of pedagogy for students with severe disabilities including materials and to support student access to instruction
- Knowledge of strategies to increase student engagement
- Knowledge of the implementation of the Response to Intervention for academics and behavior and the ability to communicate this process with staff
- Knowledge of instructional differentiation strategies
- Knowledge of Common Core and Data Driven Decision Making
- Implement state-wide initiatives through training /coaching
- Familiarity and/or Implementation with District initiatives
- Understand and can apply concepts of adult learning and motivation
- Experience with school improvement planning process
- Proficient in the use of instructional technology
- Demonstrated engagement in on-going professional growth activities
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per work day.
- Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance).
- Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students

Responsibilities
- Use best practices for coaching/modeling or observing in a formative way and providing feedback through reflective dialogue for teachers program-wide
- Analyze program level and classroom data in order to identify strengths and weaknesses and plan targeted support to improve instructional quality and effectiveness
- Collaborative with program administrators to establish coaching priorities and support program PD initiatives
- Collaborate with teachers in their Professional Learning Communities to review data and reflect on instruction as it relates to students in the program
- Collaborate with Curriculum Specialists related to students with severe disabilities to stay abreast of new instructional strategies
- Facilitate small group learning of new content, pedagogy, and instructional strategies
- Assist program administrators with planning & implementing program level professional development as identified in the LPP plan
- Serve as a member of the REACH Leadership Team
- Maintain accurate records of training activities and coaching sessions in Frontline
- Demonstrate/ model lessons
- Ability to work evening and summer hours (Compensated)
- Lead or facilitate lesson studies and/or book studies
- Broker resources to support professional growth
- Manage curriculum inventory
- Manage curriculum and instructional material ordering
- Act as State Test Coordinator for the program
- Manage college and university relations
- Manage program letters and correspondence
- Staffing Coordinator: screen applicants, set up and conduct interviews
- To identify appropriate grants and/ or resources to support continued growth for staff and students
- Other duties as assigned
