What You Will Do:
As a Concrete Form Carpenter, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Set batter boards and anchor bolts
- Form concrete footings, piers, walls and columns
- Pump, place and vibrate concrete
- Placement of concrete, slab on grade and elevated decks finishing skills a plus
- Crane signals and rigging
- Install resteel
- Read blue prints and do simple layout
- Knowledge on wall form systems a plus
- Keep immediate working area clean.
- Properly plan and execute specific work as directed.
- Identify safety hazards for you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:
- Have a general knowledge of basic carpentry and hand tools
- Minimum two (2) years in construction carpentry experience.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where the project is monitored, and daily decisions are made about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires the wearing of protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, tolerate heights, and able to talk and hear other employee talking. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Expected Hours of Work
Full time. May work nights and weekends, construction may sometime continue around the clock to meet deadlines.
Travel
Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.
