Purpose of the Position
Under the direction of the dish room supervisor, assure that all functions necessary to keep serving area supplied with clean and sanitized china and service ware. The candidate will operate in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards. Maintains area and equipment as directed. Assures that proper procedures are followed to provide clean and sanitary service ware. Performs other duties as assigned to include but not limited to beverage re-stocking and cleaning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions both verbal and written to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to deal in a courteous and professional manner, while maintaining positive relations with co-workers, faculty, staff and students.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods where wet processes are used.
- Ability to wear protective footwear.
- Ability to work in congested work areas.
- Must be able to work all shifts, day, evening and weekends.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
Experience:
- Previous experience in a food service operation

- Previous experience as a dish washer in a high volume restaurant
