What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Coach/Peer Specialist position at Christopher’s Reason?
We are seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) to join our team at Christopher's Reason, an OASAS-licensed outpatient SUD facility. The CRPA will provide peer support, guidance, and advocacy for clients in recovery. This role is critical in offering encouragement, building rapport, and fostering resilience as clients work towards their recovery goals. Please provide certificates and references along with your resume. Only Certified Recovery Peer Advocate/Peer Specialists will be considered for this position. The salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer-based support, encouragement, and motivation to clients in all stages of recovery
- Share personal experiences in a supportive manner to assist clients in navigating challenges
- Facilitate individual and group peer sessions to encourage goal-setting and accountability
- Assist clients in accessing resources, including treatment and employment services
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support client treatment plans
- Document interactions and maintain timely records in compliance with OASAS regulations
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights from a peer perspective
Qualifications:
- Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification
- Personal experience in recovery with a solid understanding of the recovery process
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- Knowledge of community resources and support systems for substance use recovery
- Understanding of and adherence to confidentiality requirements
