Job Overview
The Produce Project Manager is responsible for specific segments of farm production. Daily responsibilities will include crop planning, planning succession plantings, seeding, transplanting and crop maintenance of specific segments of farm production. The project manager will also be instrumental in the packing and marketing of produce through established and developing outlets. We currently sell to small local markets, farmers markets, CSA and creative restaurants. Christopher Springs Farm is located on 280 acres with approximately 2 acres in vegetable production. It features 4 greenhouses as well as outdoor fields. We grow a variety of products, however, we are gaining popularity in all-natural greens and vine-ripened tomatoes. On-farm housing is available. Housing and wage rates are negotiable.
Responsibilities
- Develop crop plan with the Farm Manager.
- Coordinate seeding, bed prep, transplanting, crop maintenance and harvesting.
- Install and maintain fertigation and irrigation systems.
- In-season, the role will require daily morning assessment of crop needs. This will include pruning, weed management and pest management.
- The role is collaborative with farm manager and staff. There is an opportunity for autonomous projects that expand the growth of the farm.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of produce production area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Build strong relationships with customers by providing knowledgeable assistance regarding produce selection and preparation.
Qualifications
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Proven project coordination skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in an outdoor climate year round and to lift 50 pounds.
- Basic knowledge of farm equipment and maintenance a plus.
- Experience working on farms or in greenhouses is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of produce handling, storage requirements, and best practices.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 42 per week
