POSITION SUMMARY Christy Minerals seeks a skilled Driller to conduct speed and core drilling in our fireclay reserves, perform sample testing, and contribute to our mining operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Operate and maintain drilling equipment in fireclay reserves
- Conduct field sample testing and collect core samples
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate logs and records
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
- Perform equipment maintenance and assist in site preparation
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required; associate's degree in geology preferred
- 2 years' experience in drilling operations, preferably in clay / mineral extraction
- Proficiency in speed and core drilling equipment for clay environments
- Knowledge of geological sampling and field-testing procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical documents and maps
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to mining sites
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Expertise in adjusting drilling techniques for clay reserves
- Knowledge of drilling fluid mixtures and clay-specific additives
- Understanding of efficient clay extraction methods
- Familiarity with bit balling prevention and clay swelling management
- Experience with diamond-impregnated drill bits
- Proficiency in dust control practices
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills

Work Environment and Physical Requirements : Work involves outdoor conditions at mining sites near High Hill, Missouri with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, lifting to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, reaching, and working in confined spaces.
You must be capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment and working in various weather conditions.
