RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:
Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company by:
- With guidance, develops products adhering to customer specifications, quality and operational goals & standards
- Actively participates in materials testing to support product development
- Contributes to product platform development through application of statistical experimental design, product testing and data analysis
- Supports senior level R&D individuals through development of product application and data
- Presents testing data and results to both internal and external customers
- Participates in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to determine root causes of product variations
- Maintains a safe, clean and customer facing operating environment
- While performing any procedure, associate must adhere to applicable Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental rules and guidelines; the use of appropriate personal protective equipment is required
- Any other duties as assigned

- BS Degree in technical field such as Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Competent and comfortable with use of information technology
- Work experience in pigment dispersion formulation and manufacturing preferred
- Possesses basic ability to analyze data; may assist with more complex operations or tasks
- Strong communication, computer and math skills
- Ability to multi-task and effectively execute assigned work with minimal supervision

Familiarity using:
- Scientific principles
- Design of experiments
- Knowledge of raw material groups and their basic roles and interactions: resins/binders; pigments, extenders and additives
- Knowledge of characteristics and properties of different material groups and their effects on coatings in multiple carriers
- Cost optimization strategies regarding effective use of right extender grades, pigment loadings and amounts of ingredients in the formula to solve technical problems.
