Chemist

PRODUCTION ROLE:

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and work alone in the laboratory as needed.
• Work Monday through Friday in the quality assurance laboratory when not covering open shifts.
• Process samples by preparing solutions, performing instrumental analyses (e.g. HPLC, UV-vis spectroscopy, IC) and interpreting data and results through various instrumental software.
• Determine course of action when production defects occur based on prior documented data and knowledge obtained through on-site training.
• Calibrate and maintain instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s procedures and specifications, identifying defects to ensure accurate data.
• Maintain a clean, secure, safe work area to promote efficiency and safety in lab work. 
• Provide constructive input into the review, change, and upgrade of laboratory documents including SOPs and testing methods. 
• Assist in the development of new products, particularly in the transfer of technology to manufacturing facilities
• Conduct pilot trials with plant personnel to transfer new technology or improve processes
• Improve product quality for existing commercially manufactured products
• Improve or develop analytical test methods used in commercial production.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
• Experience in an ERP system such as Acumatica or SAP.
• Technical problem solving skills relative to resolving product or process quality issues
• Capable of applying standard statistical methods of data analysis to R&D or Analytical test results to determine data significance and basic correlations
• Critical Operating Procedures applicable to position
