Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimentation in support of development of new colorant products for North America.
- Conduct experimentation to develop new, more efficient manufacturing processes that reduce laborious steps and tasks.
- Evaluate projects, laboratory analyses and trials for process improvements, raw materials, new products, potential hazards, equipment, etc.
- Evaluate new alternated raw materials as needed.
- Support manufacturing by providing technical experise
- Review and evaluate data generated from trials from customers, manufacturing, quality assurance or process improvements
- Recommend solutions to completion of projects including changes to the processes, raw materials, product or QA manufacturing systems
- Recommend solutions by new methods procedures and approaches to specific problems

Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in STEM field (chemistry, biochemistry, physics, etc.) with preference toward completion of key classes such as organic chemistry and analytical chemistry.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills – including telephone, email, and face-to-face
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a pleasant demeanor during stressful times.
- Must be proficient and accurate in typing, MS Word, Excel, PPT, ERP systems.
- Ability to use good judgment, follow step-by-step processes, and admit when errors are made.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a chemistry lab environment. There are dangerous chemicals in the lab area, but the Development Lab Intern will not be required to handle these chemicals. Safety precautions will be taken to ensure that the Development Lab Intern is safe from potential chemical hazards.
