Community Relations Coordinator

The Community Relations Coordinator plays a vital role in driving the credit union's mission by fostering new membership growth opportunities, coordinating events, and strengthening community engagement efforts. This individual will build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community members to promote financial wellness and increase credit union membership. They will also plan and execute outreach initiatives, sponsorships, and events that enhance the credit union's visibility and impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Business and Community Development & Relationship Management
• Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships with local businesses, organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders.
• Plan and coordinate credit union membership and community events, including Member Appreciation Day, Annual Meeting, Blood Drives, student branch events, and more.
• Coordinate event and partner promotions to drive membership growth and engagement.
• Represent the credit union at events to promote brand awareness and partnership opportunities.
• Work closely with internal departments to align workplace programs and financial wellness initiatives with the credit union's strategic goals.

Event Planning & Coordination

• Plan, coordinate, and execute community events, financial education programs, credit union-hosted events and activities, and sponsorships.
• Collaborate with marketing and internal teams to develop event themes and promotions.
• Manage partner relationships and sponsorship agreements to ensure successful execution.
• Manage all aspects of event planning and execution, including, but not limited to, vendor coordination, logistics, and event photography, ensuring a smooth and successful experience.
• Track and evaluate event success, providing reports and recommendations for future improvements.
• Work with Marketing Specialist on promotions, raffles, flyers, press releases, promotional products, and other event promotional materials.

Community Engagement & Outreach

• Work with the AVP, Marketing and Community Relations to develop and implement outreach programs that align with the credit union's mission of "Financial Wellness for All" and the cooperative principle of community service.
• Act as a liaison between the credit union and local nonprofits, schools, and civic organizations to coordinate volunteer initiatives and community partnerships.
• Assist the AVP, Marketing and Community Relations and Director of Retail Operations in facilitating financial literacy programs for businesses, schools, and community groups.
• Manage the sponsorships and donations aligning with the community service goals of the credit union.
• Assist in creating financial wellness and community project presentations.
• Coordinate the volunteers for internal and external events.
• Track and analyze the credit union's community impact data to measure the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
• Report on community engagement efforts, ensuring alignment with corporate social responsibility goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills, experience interacting with diverse audiences and building relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficient in Google Suite products.
• Experience with event planning and/or community engagement.
• Passion for community service and financial education.

Work Environment & Schedule:

• This position requires frequent travel within the community for meetings, events, and outreach efforts.
• Some evening and weekend work will be required based on event schedules.
