SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
Chrome Hearts is seeking a creative and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our Metal Design Production / Research & Development team. In this role, you will focus on translating aesthetic concepts into detailed 3D geometry and 2D drawings while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your designs will play a key role in maintaining the brand"s distinct aesthetic and quality, from concept through production. This position emphasizes creative problem-solving, an eye for design trends, and attention to detail, ensuring a balance between artistry and manufacturability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create detailed 3D geometry and 2D drawings with a focus on aesthetic integrity and manufacturable design, working from input provided by the design and production teams.
- Collaborate with teams to design visually compelling and manufacturable products, fixtures, and technical documentation.
- Develop new design concepts, materials, and finishes that align with the brand"s creative direction and heritage.
- Apply expertise in material properties for precious metals, metals, plastics, and wood, ensuring designs meet functional and aesthetic requirements.
- Stay current with design trends and historical brand aesthetics to shape future product designs.
- Work with prototypes, inspecting physical parts against 3D models to ensure visual and dimensional accuracy.
- Use digital tools to organize, present, and store design data effectively.
- Communicate design concepts visually, verbally, and in writing, fostering collaboration across departments.
- Experience with rapid prototyping or CNC processes is beneficial but secondary to a strong aesthetic design foundation.
- Adapt insights from existing manufacturing processes, product designs, and materials to shape future development projects.
- Must have ability to articulate and understand complex concepts visually, verbally, and in written form.
- Ability to process information from many sources, in different formats, to build a complete design package used to interface with manufacturing and suppliers.
- Ability to organize and store information in digital format.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in a warehouse and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and other electronic devices. Direct interaction required with the machine shop / bench jewelers / fabricators to see project progress / ask questions / resolve issues in production process.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and / or stand for prolonged periods of time, some walking. Employees are regularly required to talk and / or hear. Employees will be expected to repeat much of the physical motions throughout the shift that may include use of their feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands and / or
fingers. This work will involve a variety of hand operations requiring a high degree of manual dexterity and close visual attention. The employee must be able to carry and / or lift up to 25 lbs if needed.
