SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for Merchandise Sales Forecasting & Allocation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Forecast Sales and Inventory needs to support CH Store for assigned product categories.
- Plan and Replenish inventory for Consignment Accounts as needed.
Analyze sales by product category to identify sales trends and inventory opportunities.
Provide updates to Chief Merchant and Head of Planning as needed.Provide recaps to STARKS and COO as requested based on business needs.Manage inventory levels based on inventory turn guidelines for CH Stores and Factory.
Review current inventory and On Order levels and adjust as needed.Manage new orders based on production lead time and forecasted demandIncludes cancellations, re-prioritizations and order additions.Identify slow moving product and provide recommendations to improve turn.Identify Aged inventory and get timely resolution of liquidation.Manage Monthly Re-Routes back to factory or store to store.Manage Allocation to ensure weekly flow of inventory to stores for new and ongoing products.
Provide weekly allocation updates.Manage SKU Holds and New Item releases.Communicate New Item releases to Stores and Sales Department.Communicate priorities to Stockroom as needed.Forecast and plan monthly replenishment of regular product.
Forecast blanks or raw materials as needed.Forecast and plan for new item releases.
Adhere to deadlines on the published New Item Schedule.Forecast and Plan for Drop Ship Product as needed.
Follow Purchasing timeline to ensure store allocations are completed in a timely manner.Manage Production Priorities for Production.
Responsible for managing production priorities for assigned product classificationPrioritize for CH Stores & Wholesale. Summarize data for the team.Communicate priorities monthly.Schedule and provide agenda for the weekly / monthly Production Touchbase Meeting.Manage and Maintain Product Part Status & Replenishment Codes.
Review core product and adjust assortment based on changes in demand / customer profileManage SKU Rationalization Process as needed.
Analysis by product classComplete product books for Stark review.Update Part Status & Replenishment codes post-meeting.Coordinate Pullbacks from Stores of Discontinued Product.Timely resolution of MELT or Write-off if needed.Communication to Stores as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in a Business Related field, Business Management, Retail or equivalent preferredMinimum 2 years of Merchandise Planning, Allocation or comparable experience requiredExperience with inventory management, IT systems, product pipeline process design, and promotional strategiesStrong financial and analytical skillsProficient with Excel and Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAnalytical, quantitative, and technical experience in creation and oversight of reporting toolsAbility to analyze, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts to make effective business decisions.Positive energy, strong attention to detail and extremely organizedAble to build relationships across cross-functional departments and communicate across channels to achieve objectivesBusiness acumen to devise a business plan and execute planning strategyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changeBENEFITS
