Job Description
ChromeTech is a family owned and operated company for over 35 years. We are experiencing growth which requires adding a full time Shift Leader on 2nd shift. The shift schedule is 4pm to 12:30am, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends. You will train on 1st shift for 8-12 weeks before moving to 2nd shift.
Interested candidate should have the following:
Prior experience working in the plating, metal finishing or coating industries is preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Leadership experience, 2 years.
Extreme attention to detail with excellent multi-tasking skills.
Able to problem solve (identify problem, define root cause, develop alternative solutions, select and implement most effective solution).
Good mechanical aptitude.
Proficient using computers and Microsoft Office software.
Good communication and coaching skills with the capability to deal with issues in a positive, complete manner.
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Positive work attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Demonstrate personal safety and help maintain a safe work environment for themselves and fellow members of the production team. Responsible for following all company safety rules and guidelines.
Ensure all tasks required to operate the line are efficiently executed by moving to relieve bottle necks, helping your teammates, and looking for ways to improve a process.
Provide overall leadership on 2nd shift for all production personnel.
Mentor and coach personnel to foster growth, cross training and capabilities of team.
Become a fully cross-trained expert on all assets, capable of teaching anyone how to properly operate each asset and training on each ChromeTech Standard Work Instruction (SWIs).
Control and document the process using the appropriate ChromeTech forms and tools as required for the specific positions.
Regulate voltage, current and plating time to obtain desired thickness of plating (per WO).
Understand / utilize work order formulas and specifications to produce quality parts.
Understand / utilize testing and measuring equipment to assure parts being plated are quality within customer specifications.
Understand and complete all paperwork necessary and incidental to the plating operation.
Execute daily production plan and report on performance for shift, including production statistics, waste, maintenance needs, safety and personnel issues making sure they are accurate.
Able to test all products using accepted quality procedures and equipment in a consistent and reliable way.
Performs routine maintenance on each asset as required.
Assist Maintenance as required.
Assist with special projects (in particular continuous improvement projects) as needed.
Monitor and communicate adjustments to assets or other equipment.
Effectively communicate with incoming and outgoing Shift Leaders, Platers, Maintenance, and all other personnel in a positive manner.
Work according to team standards and guidelines and ensure quality standards are being achieved on an ongoing basis.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel and squat throughout their shift.
Due to the requirements of the job it is essential that individual in this position have full range of motion of both hands with good hand-eye coordination
Work environment is a plating shop with chrome and nickel plating solutions at various temperatures.
