Position Summary
Reporting to the Grants & Contracts Manager, the Grants Analyst will play a pivotal role in the grants and compliance function at Chrysalis. This position will support financial planning and budgeting, prepare financial reporting and grant management reporting for government and private foundation funds. This role will develop financial models, prepare projections, provide monthly financial reports which include key metrics, and variance analysis. This role will execute on billing, financial reporting and collaborate with the Sr. Grants Analyst in compliance and other grant reporting.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Provide financial reporting, grant management, budgeting, and analysis support to government grants and private foundation.
- Monitor grant expenses, while analyzing budget vs. actual program expense variances; administer assigned budgets and prepare budget modifications when needed, in collaboration with program staff
- provide grant and financial reconciliation, and conduct research-related financial reporting
- Work collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure billing accuracy
- Prepare grant invoices and ensure the compliance of program guidelines before final submission to the reporting agencies
- Collaborate with the Grants & Contracts Manager and the Sr. Grants Analyst in ensuring that financial reporting and compliance requirements are completed and submitted timely.
- Participate in evaluating, improving, and documenting policies and procedures.
- Assist with the annual budget process, annual audits and other tasks as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and a minimum of three year’s work experience in grants management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent working knowledge of nonprofit accounting including grants management, revenue recognition and donor restrictions.
- Knowledge and experience with accounting for grants, contracts, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience working with QuickBooks Enterprise and Sage Intacct accounting software highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite with an Intermediate to advanced understanding of Excel.
- Ability to compile and review financial data and provide analysis and recommendations of trends, budget variations, and other related financial issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills conducive to the supporting of multiple programs with various needs.
