THERAPEUTIC DAY TREATMENT (TDT) is a program designed for children and adolescents and is provided within a structured, safe, and supportive psycho-educational setting. The program is grounded in evidenced-based treatment methods focused on identifying both emotional and behavioral factors that have prevented the youth from being successful in their home, school, and community settings. The program aims to develop positive feelings about the youth’s school environment, improve academic performance, develop family and community support, decrease school absences, and improve prosocial skills to prevent school dropout. Therapeutic techniques are utilized to address and change negative thought patterns, reduce anxiety, manage stress, and stabilize mood and behaviors. The program is designed as a collaborative effort between the youth, guardians, school officials, teachers, and the TDT worker to identify therapeutic goals for school and academic success.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Chrysalis Counseling Centers is currently seeking Qualified Mental Health Professionals who want to make a difference in this world. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide in-school services to youth and their families including case management and service coordination
- Provide service to at-risk youth in a school or para-school setting
- Provide therapeutic related activities to youth and families for increased school success
- Work with children and families in the community
- Offer crisis intervention to clients as needed
- Provide therapeutic activities and opportunities that foster social modeling, social interactions, and behavior modifications
- Coordinate with other staff and community agencies to ensure the appropriateness of treatment modalities and services being provided
- Provide advocacy work with schools, courts, and other social service agencies.
- Attend individual and group supervisions

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, human services or special education and 1-4 years of mental health experience. one-year experience will be considered.
- Registered with the Board of Counseling as a QMHP-C
- Must hold a good driving record, current driver’s license, and current auto insurance policy
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Negative Tuberculosis test/screening.
