Responsibilities
- Provide care to all levels of programming to patients ages 4-21 showing a change or decline in mental status, chronic or urgent medical conditions.
- Provide timely medication management and prescriptions to patients, will explain the benefits, risks and, alternatives of medications to patients, families and staff, will assess patient for medications given and, will order any tests needed.
- Supervise treatment for patients on psychotropic medications in coordination with the primary health care physician, when indicated by patient’s medical condition.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing School with a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- Licensed APRN in the State of Florida, active and in good standing and preferrably a supervising physician protocol.
- Certified PMHNP, active and in good standing.
- Must have valid DEA license in good standing.
- Minimum of one year in behavioral health/substance use industry (i.e. detoxification, residential, partial hospitalization or outpatient setting).
- Advanced knowledge of treatment procedures and interventions common to substance use patients as well as to non-violent crisis intervention practice.
- Advanced knowledge of abnormal psychology and application of this knowledge particularly in substance use patients.
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology especially those terms associated with psychiatric care through familiarity of psycho-pharmacy and the use of psychotropic medications with psychiatric, substance use patients.
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology especially those terms associated with psychiatric, substance use patients.
- Bilingual a plus.
