Performs as a Nursing Assistant within the care management team under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Performs delegated nursing tasks for which competence is demonstrated through the Nursing Assistant skills checklist.
Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations at a level preferably acquired through completion of a high school education or equivalent.
Registered with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants (CNA) to be eligible for employment in the basic provider settings. Certified Nursing Assistant certifications are not required to be renewed after hire.
Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Possesses and competently demonstrates core Nursing Assistant skills as outlined in the skill competency checklist and understands the role of performing delegated tasks.
Possesses a willingness and the initiative to successfully complete educational requirements while developing and learning new skills as required by the unit.
Possesses effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team.
Possesses rudimentary assessment and analytical skills in order to perform basic patient observations.
Unit Description:
The Clinical Resource Unit (CRU) is the internal float pool. It consists of direct care staff who works on the various inpatient units. Care partners float to all inpatient units and the EDTC. CRU care partners are often assigned to sitter patients.
Schedule:
The schedule would include working 11:00pm-7:30am one shift per week.
