Role & Responsibilities:
The Hospital Registration areas assist patient families who are accessing Children’s Wisconsin services which include patient scheduling and registration, support of the entire check-in process, collecting CoPays, supporting the billing process by gathering insurance information, physician referrals, verifying insurance pre-authorizations and ensuring patient demographics are current.
Under the direction of the Admitting & Registration Services Manager – Admitting Registration, this position will supervise and respond to the day-to-day activities of the hospital registration teams.
This includes, but is not limited to providing leadership, direction and support in staffing the Ancillary Front Desk operations for ARS.
Primary responsibilities include development of policies, procedures, and protocols, staffing plans, schedules, payroll, quality assurance, performance reviews, and coaching and development of staff.
Oversees front desk staff operations centralized registration areas. Works collaboratively with ambulatory staff, leaders, and providers to evaluate and actively support the facilitation of Hospital front desk workflows.
Collaborates with hospital leaders, develops and maintains department specific protocols. Ensures that staff is adhering to these protocols by auditing monthly or quarterly and providing quality improvement feedback to staff that will be utilized in their annual performance evaluations. Makes recommendations for change as necessary and acts as a change agent for process improvement.
Collects and reports data on topics such as patient encounters and service satisfaction, making recommendations for change when appropriate. Prepares and presents program initiative and goals at leadership, provider, and staff meetings.
Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance, completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring, terminations, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.
This position works collaboratively with all levels of staff and leadership in addition to patient families to achieve goals set forth by Patient Access leadership and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

LOCATION: Milwaukee Children's WI Hospital | EDTC
SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE - 40 Hours/Week
2 Days | 15:00 - 02:00
2 Days | 17:00 - 02:00
Education, License & Certification:
Associate Degree or equivalent experience required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience:
Requires 3 years of experience in an inpatient and/or outpatient healthcare setting, necessary in order to hold comprehensive knowledge of registration, scheduling, and insurance plans and to problem solve general needs of staff, patients, physicians, and all other customers.
Previous leadership experience or demonstrated advancement through progressive growth in responsibilities and assignments within the department.
Prior experience leading and working with teams and data collection and analysis as well as the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously preferred.
Experience with human resource related responsibilities preferred (i.e. performance reviews, hiring, coaching/counseling).
Must be able to utilize multiple modules within Epic to support the needs of patients, families, and physicians.

Prior experience working in a Windows environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Normal office environment where there is no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high risk body fluids.
