The Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher develops and implements educational curriculums to enhance the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of children. This role involves creating a nurturing classroom environment that fosters a love for learning among students.
This individual plays a critical role in planning, supervising, and ensuring compliance with state requirements while contributing to children's self-help skills and development. The Lead Teacher reports to the Assistant Director and keeps them informed about any risks or issues.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and implementing lesson plans linked to child outcomes and program development
- Enhancing social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-specific activities and language experiences for children
- Providing a safe, nurturing environment for children and supervising their care
- Including children and families in the development of classroom experiences and preparing instructional resources/materials
- SUPPORTING CHILDREN'S SELF-HELP SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT
- Maintaining daily communication with families using multiple channels
- Meeting and communicating with families during designated conference times and as necessary
- Maintaining developmental profiles for children
- Collaborating with Associate Teachers and Assistant Teachers as the leader of the classroom team
- Remaining compliant with all state licensing requirements
- Ensuring accurate and timely completion of required program documentation and reports
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Bachelor's Degree Preferred)
- List C certification in the PA ECE Career Pathway (preferred)
- 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience and knowledge in Early Childhood Education program and teaching standards, including NAEYC standards preferred
- Familiar with inquiry-based and project approach learning, as well as PBIS strategies preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively work with low-income families preferred
- Comfortability with technology and/or willingness to learn
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to influence, lead, and educate teams
- Ability to physically interact with children and lift items of up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
