Job Title: Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher
The Lead Teacher plays a crucial role in shaping the educational and emotional growth of infants and toddlers. This individual is responsible for creating a nurturing classroom environment, involving families in the learning process, and ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements.
This dedicated professional acts as a leader among the classroom team, promoting collaboration and effective communication with both families and colleagues. The Lead Teacher is passionate about education and excited about working with children to further their development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to child outcomes and program development.
- Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-specific activities and language experiences.
- Supervise and provide a safe, nurturing environment for children.
- Involving families in the development of classroom experiences and preparing instructional resources/materials.
- Support children's self-help skills and development.
- Maintain general classroom management, organization, cleanliness, and safety.
- Care for the safety and hygiene of children.
- Maintain daily communication with families using multiple channels of communication.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or Early Childhood Special Education (Bachelor's Degree Preferred)
- List C certification in the PA ECE Career Pathway (preferred)
- 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience and knowledge in Early Childhood Education program and teaching standards, including code of ethics - NAEYC standards preferred
Requirements:
- Ability to physically interact with children and lift/move items up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS
- U.S. work authorization and successful completion of pre-employment background checks and clearances
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with inquiry-based and project approach learning, as well as PBIS strategies
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively work with low-income families
- Comfortability with technology, including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
