Job Title: Teachers at CHS Harrisburg Center
Catherine Hershey Schools seeks dedicated professionals to foster a nurturing learning environment for children, focusing on their development through collaborative efforts. They engage with students by implementing tailored lesson plans and encouraging family involvement while maintaining compliance with state regulations.
The team consists of Lead, Associate, and Assistant Teachers, each contributing unique skills and qualifications to support early childhood education. The Lead Teacher, Associate Teacher, and Assistant Teacher collaborate to create an environment that encourages learning and growth through group and individual learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children's development and learning in a safe and nurturing environment
- Enhance social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-specific activities and language experiences
- Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans linked to child outcomes and program development
- Support children's self-help skills and development
- Complete all program required documentation, daily attendance, and meal participation reports
- Maintain daily communication with families using approved channels of communication
- Maintain confidentiality as it pertains to program, staff, and families
- Observe, assess, and document each assigned child's health, skills, behavior, growth, and development
- Evaluate and maintain general classroom management, organization, cleanliness, and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements
Qualifications:
- Current Child Development Associate credential or the ability to achieve within 2 years
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Bachelor's Degree Preferred)
- Experience in Early Childhood Education program and teaching standards
- Familiarity with inquiry-based and project approach learning, PBIS strategies, and NAEYC standards
- Ability to work with low-income families, identify problems, and implement solutions
- Physical ability to interact with children and lift items up to 40 pounds
- U.S. work authorization and successful completion of pre-employment background checks and clearances
Requirements:
- Early childhood education experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- List C certification in the PA ECE Career Pathway preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate with families and staff
