The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an integral part of the delivery of health care and provides for primary care/GI in many ambulatory settings through the CHS Physician Enterprise.  The APP provides patient care under the supervision of a qualified physician and is credentialed through the Medical Staff process.

 

 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Participates in and provides clinical care to patients through interview and observation, evaluation and assessment, intervention, planning and written documentation during their visit at the Infusion Center.
  • Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
  • Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
  • Performs daily patient rounds.
  • Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
  • Interprets laboratory and test results.
  • Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.

Requirements:

  • PA - Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, minimum Bachelor’s degree required
  • NP - Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, current RN license and current AANP or ANCC certification

 

Experience

  • Minimum of two years experience as an APP in a physician practice or ambulatory environment preferred. Oncology/Hematology highly preferred.  

Certification:

  • Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner certification (AANP or ANCC certification)
  • BLS/ACLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:
    • American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
    • No online programs from any organization will be accepted.
    • DEA registration required for those with discharge responsibilities. 


Salary Range

USD $66.55 - USD $89.00 /Yr.
