What are the responsibilities and job description for the REMOTE - Property & Casualty Risk Engineer position at Chubb Limited, Inc.?

The Property & Casualty Risk Engineer operates within the Risk Engineering Department and is considered an integral component of the value added services that we provide for our commercial insurance policyholders.\u00A0This position will primarily service New Jersey and lower NY State\u00A0with occasional travel to assist the 5 Boroughs of NYC and Long Island.

\n\n

The primary focus of this position is to\u00A0provide our underwriting team an understanding of a client\u2019s operations and to\u00A0counsel clients on best practices related to their existing operations and programs (employee safety, fleet, facility maintenance, business continuation, products safety, etc.). The individual will assist clients with identifying hazards within their facilities and, as appropriate, provide recommendations for improved practices. The individual will also discuss and provide\u00A0Chubb\u2019s Risk Engineering services to support a client needs and/or improve the account\u2019s loss history (i.e.\u00A0business continuation planning, employee safety training, safety committee support, product safety review and evaluate building fire protection systems).

\n\n

Travel requirements consist of car travel to and from customer locations multiple days/week. Most travel can be done without overnight stays. Occasional travel can be required throughout the region as business needs warrant. Overnight travel is minimal and may be required approximately 1-2 nights per year.

Qualifications

The pay range for the role is $71,500 to $115,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant\u2019s skills and other factors. Knowledge and Skills Required:

\n\n
    \n\t
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in property, casualty, and worker"s compensation insurance risk management and loss prevention functions, primarily focused on evaluating hazards and controls.
  • \n\t
  • Strong proficiency in hazard identification skills, with an emphasis in Property, General Liability, Products & Worker"s Compensation coverages.
  • \n\t
  • Counseling and providing presentations to existing customers on a variety of safety related topics.
  • \n\t
  • Comprehensive understanding of\u00A0existing exposures and safety controls for the following lines of business: property, business interruption, product liability, workers"compensation, and commercial vehicle. Fire pump test knowledge and industrial hygiene knowledge is desirable.\u00A0
  • \n\t
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.\u00A0

Education and Certification:

    \n\t
  • Four-year college degree with a major in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields\u00A0preferred.
  • \n\t
  • Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as CSP or ARM is highly desirable.
