Job Overview
Incumbent uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of the handling of official government mail. Selects from alternative methods and refers problems to the Official Mail Manager or Supervisor/Lead using applicable ARMY and Postal regulations and published standard operating procedures.
Typical duties include: assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records; verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; and handling and investigating complaints. Will establish work flow of incoming and outgoing mail through the mail room. Receives orders, retrieves parcels/mail from clients and delivers in a timely, safe, professional manner.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Mail Management:
- Processes and sorts incoming and outgoing classified and unclassified mail in mail room.
- Hand delivers classified mail to appropriate recipients throughout the May obtain receipts for articles delivered and keeps a log of items received and delivered.
- Maintains proper documentation, logs for recording receipt of and mail out of classified mail.
- Maintains an up-to-date directory by name, organization, building number and telephone number for use in work assignments.
- Keeps weekly (or as required) account of monies used from metered mail and prepares a weekly (or as required) expenditure report.
- Maintains postage meter (download postage funds, maintenance).
- Follows established procedures or steps to process paperwork.
- Operates light vehicles to deliver documents, packages and mail to various clients, governmental agencies within Picatinny Capable of route planning for most optimal and efficient delivery route.
- May perform miscellaneous errands such as carrying mail/small parcels to and from post office.
- Maintains and operates company vehicles and/or tools and equipment in compliance with company policy.
- Supports the project Safety Plan though personal involvement in all aspects of Safety, including training, safety protective equipment and clothing, and adhering to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
- Others duties as assigned.
Mandatory:
- US Citizen.
- Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Prior mail distribution experience.
- Competency to operate internet driven postage meter to download postage funds.
- Ability to pass, annually, the Department of Defense (DoD) Mail Management Program.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance after hire.
