Job Overview
Responsible for providing and managing network installation, scripts, support, planning, monitoring, system integration and other duties to support the Center's LAN and WAN network system. Must ensure the availability and optimization of the network system as well as configuration and installation of tools to enhance Center staff and student productivity. Responsible for user access, systems analysis, provision of technical assistance, system trouble shooting and staff training.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Oversees system policies and standards to achieve Center goals.
- Consults with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
- Develops, documents, tests and/or modifies computer systems or programs to meet Center requirements.
- Ensures system currency and manages software licensing agreements to ensure they are up to date.
- Directs the work assignments of department staff, if applicable.
- Provides technical expertise in the areas of systems-related performance management, security reviews, and project planning.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of systems hardware and systems software; along with system internals and network communications.
- Reviews and recommends hardware and software needs or improvements.
- Recommends long-term requirements of system operation and administration are included in information system planning of the Center.
- Performs the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of the computer systems.
- Implements operational system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the Center's system.
- Orders replacement parts and devices; perform all installations following imaging procedures.
- Oversees activities related to server support and systems administration.
- Sets-up and configures all PCs at each location, maintains configuration standards across the Center.
- Installs and configures all peripheral devices such as printers, network cards, modems, CD ROM drives, scanners, and other devices connected to the network or network server.
- Provides help desk and troubleshooting assistance to staff and students on software and hardware.
- Sets-up and configures network server with Windows Server system.
- Ensures integrity of user system files by performing daily backup.
- Acts as Center's primary point of contact on all MIS matters with DOL Job Corps Data Center (JCDC).
- Maintains accountability of students and property; adheres to safety practices.
- Manages junior staff, interns and volunteers when applicable
- Cultivates and maintain a climate on Center which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
- Promotes the development of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students monitoring student skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years' experience as a Lead Network Administrator for database system support.
- One year of CITRIX support experience.
- Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting
- LAN, WAN, computer hardware and software.
- Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.
- Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
