The Logistics Manager is responsible for all contract related warehousing, shipping/receiving activities, vehicle fleet operations, transportation services, mail services, and other functions related to the continuity of operations. The Logistics Manager will develop, implement and document thereafter any required process or procedure to ensure compliance with all applicable Corporate, Contract, Federal, State and Local regulations. This position will work directly with other contract managers to streamline contract support functions and minimize overall performance inhibitors.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Plans and implements all logistics activities including but not limited to night moves, material/equipment shipping, delivery and setup, etc. as required to support contract operations.
- Provides training for all departmental staff members and peer Managers ensuring compliance with regulations; including improper business practices, personal conflicts of interest, etc.
- Supervises and directs work schedules for warehouse, supply personnel, logistics, fleet support, and other departmental personnel.
- May oversee/conduct negotiation sessions with government counterparts, union representation, potential subcontractors and other outside vendors.
- Meets with representatives of customer field activities, managers, supervisors, and staff concerning policies and procedures to attain maximum supply control and to discuss and resolve major supply issues.
- Develops and implements standard operating procedures pertaining to the daily operation of the Logistics Department’s activities. Ensures full coordination with the government customer and all other contract departments.
- Periodically reviews documents, computer printouts, stock record activities, reports of surveys, etc., to assure procedures are consistent with current command policy, regulatory guidance, and special instructions.
- Plans and establishes short and long range logistical utilization plans.
- Develops internal reporting requirements designed to evaluate progress and detect potential issues.
- Oversees the implementation of all contract functions such as mail service, transportation, customer warehousing, and related activities.
- Responsible for processing department time sheets.
- May occasionally be required to operate Government or company owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment.
- May be required to perform various lower classified duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, warehouse space maintenance and telephone answering as required.
- Adheres to the established company safety, personnel, and standard operating procedures and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Mandatory:
- Bachelor degree in Business or a related field. This requirement may also be met with ten (10) years of experience as a department head or managerial oversight in the development and proper implementation of Federal procurement regulations, warehouse procedures, and Federal property accountability programs without a degree.
- Ten (10) years of experience in logistics, supply, procurement, and warehousing operations; five of which must be associated with the Federal Government or DOD.
- Six (6) years of supervisory experience with the ability to motivate subordinates to attain stated objectives.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in American Standard English.
- Familiar with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and On-Line Vehicle Interactive Management System (OLVIMS) for managing vehicle fleet.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required national industrial security program clearance level
- Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
- Valid state driver’s license with a suitable driving record.
