The role of the Quality Control Specialist IV is to provide technical problem solving, maintenance, and refurbishment services to NIWC Atlantic in support of the Other Command Funded C4I Installation Support and Maintenance Efforts.
Work Model: Onsite/In-Office
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Managing the installation department’s shipboard efforts supporting OCF Task Orders.
- Directing the daily work of assigned CHUGACH and subcontractor personnel in support of OCF Task Orders.
- Providing monthly evaluations on CHUGACH and subcontractor personnel supporting OCF Task Orders. These evaluations shall include recommendations on promoting, demoting, or firing assigned employees.
- Solve technical problems.
- Supervise and guide the troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and refurbishment of various communications, navigation, power, command and control, and interior communications systems.
- Assure that the product and its manufacturing process meet quality and safety standards.
- Test equipment to make sure that the manufacturing process operates effectively and safely.
- Interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication.
- Prepare shop drawings for model construction.
- Assist with identifying material specifications and fabrication methods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Mandatory:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance within 12 months of hire date.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field.
- Or must have a High School diploma and 10 years’ proven experience in quality control/assurance within the USN/USCG electronic system maintenance and installation industry.
- Must be willing to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS.
- Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Must have testing, alignment, troubleshooting and repair experience on at least one of the following systems.
- Antenna Tilt Group (ATG).
- Temporary Lan (TEMPLAN).
- LHD, LPD, and LPD class ships Engineering Surveillance System (ESS), Master At Arms (MAA), 6TV, and Flight Deck Security Camera systems.
- Special Operation Forces Liaison Element (SOFLE).
- 1MC, 3MC, 5MC, 10MC, 22MC, 23MC, 24MC, AND 58M Communication systems.
- AS-1735, AS-2537A, AVK, and AS-2890 antenna systems.
- Must have a strong proficiency in quality control tools and methodologies while demonstrating excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-hire background check and drug test.
