This position is responsible for the care of supplies in storage for warehouse operations at Maxwell Airforce Base in Montgomery AL. Extensive knowledge and experience in Materiel Management is critical to be successful in this position. As the chief inspector you ensure accurate identification and condition of supplies in storage. This is a position that requires attention to detail and the strong ability to research, analyze, and interpret information.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive. DOD and AF Supply Policies and Directives and established Statement of Work direct specific responsibilities.
- Responsible for conducting limited inspector training to all personnel assigned materiel manager limited inspector duties.
- Establish and maintain the identification of items received, stored, issued, shipped, and transferred. Validate and process all identity changes for materiel for which the LRS/CC is
- Maintain a file of all active TCTOs for items in warehouse
- Accept or reject items delivered under contracts that require acceptance at the NWRM assets received under contract will not be rejected.
- Coordinate with maintenance to determine if items suspected as damaged should be repaired or
- Store incomplete items and notify LRS TCTO Monitor to initiate issue requests for items that are needed to bring incomplete assemblies to a serviceable condition.
- Manage the Shelf-life program for assets in Validate extensions and process disposition on assets that have expired or become outdated.
- Ensure Functional check items are properly flagged in ILS-S, properly tagged and inspected as required to avoid erroneous issue.
- Manage and control the DLA Suspect Item Coordinate with DLA and supported base organizations as required to identify, inspect and properly tag assets that meet the conditions of the program. Submit SDR’s as required and dispose of property as instructed.
- Prepare and submit outbound SDR’s for discrepant shipments as Work with the base SDR manager to ensure proper accountability and follow-up on reporting.
- Identify property known or suspected to be damaged or to have deteriorated or corroded during use, storage, or shipment.
- Responsible for the removal, replacement, necessary destruction, or obliteration of tags and labels unless otherwise required by applicable TOs or directives.
Mandatory:
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Functional knowledge with the use of TOs, stock lists, parts catalogs, and specifications to determine the completeness and/or condition of an item.
- Knowledge of DOD Supply systems such as D043, BLADE, ILS-S, Asset Management, WebSDR, WebFLIS, and AMPS.
- Knowledge of DOD regulations directing supply operations such as AFI 23-101, AFMAN 23-122, AFH23-123 and other related AF/DOD directives.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows based computers to include Microsoft Office.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Able to walk, stand, kneel, and bend without assistance.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid Driver’s License.
