Naswik, LLC, is a joint partnership between Chugach, Tatitlek and Chenega. Naswik, opening in the Fall of 2024, is a four-story building located in the city of Valdez that offers premium commercial spaces, hotel rentals, and workforce housing. Naswik is the Sugt’stun word for ‘look out’, a vantage point that offers a comprehensive view. Naswik will be the tallest building and Valdez and offer sensational views of both the ocean and mountains.

SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Housekeeper provides for exceptional customer
service and support of guests of Chugach Naswik, a short term and nightly rental facility in Valdez, AK.
Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and shared spaces within the hotel and
doing laundry as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS / ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner.
- Cleaning and arranging guest rooms.
- Washing bedding and linen as required.
- Stocking and maintaining an inventory of housekeeping supplies.
- Dusting furniture and fixtures.
- Scrubbing and sanitizing showers, bathtubs, toilets, countertops and sinks.
- Vacuuming and cleaning carpets, doormats and rugs.
- Reporting breakages, damages, and safety issues for repair.
- Answer general questions from guests.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Writing and completing check lists and reports related to cleaning schedules and inventory
Work Conditions:
Work requires the individual to be on their feet throughout the day cleaning the hotel. Any office work
is performed in a traditional office environment. Incumbent should be able to walk unassisted, bend,
squat, lift and stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and follow signs and written instructions.
- Ability to perform duties in a timely manner and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to use hand or lightweight cleaning tools.
- Physical strength to lift heavy objects or furnishings up to 50lbs.
- Ability to take instructions and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
