With First Aid Attendants/Resort EMTs playing an important role in both the Lost Rios Water Park and the rest of Chula Vista Resort, good decision making is vital. These Guidelines and Protocols for First Aid Attendants/Resort EMTs are not meant to be all encompassing, but are written to support the first aid staff/Resort EMTs in providing care to guests and employees resort-wide.
First Aid Attendants/Resort EMTs employed by Chula Vista Resort are expected to meet certain guidelines, which include, but are not limited to:
- Must feel comfortable performing first aid within Chula Vista Resort’s approved scope of practice
- Must be familiar with and understand our facility’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and their responsibilities during an emergency
- Must be familiar and comfortable with all necessary paperwork and reports (i.e., Minor Injury Log, Guest Injury Reports, Employee Injury Reports, Witness Statements, etc.)
- Must remain professional at all times, both around the Water Park and in the resort
- Must keep the First Aid Stations sterile and ready for use at any time
- Must perform daily equipment checks and report any shortages or problems to the Manager on Duty
- Must be available to take calls at the First Aid Station at any time
- Must inform the Manager on Duty and/or Supervisor whenever leaving the water park for a call in the resort
Experience Requirements
Preferred: EMT-Basic, EMT-I tech, Paramedic, RN, or first responder.
Preferred: current in CPR and first aid for the health care professional.
Physical Requirements:
*Must be able to lift 20lbs.
Body Positions:
Sitting, standing for an extended period of time.
Body Sense:
Have full use of eyes and ears, full power of speech.
Body Movements:
Walking, turning head and torso, bending arms, wrists, and fingers.
Mental Requirements:
Mathematics:
Must be able to do routine math calculations.
Language:
Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, well enough to give instructions, relay information, and carry on effective interchange with customers, vendors, and company staff.
