Description
The Fleet Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the safety, maintenance, and repairing of all vehicles within the Chula Vista and Coldwater Canyon fleet.
This is a 1st shift position with weekday and limited weekend availability.
*Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License (or ability to obtain one). Prefer if candidate has many of their own tools (larger tools, scanners, etc provided by the company)
Essential duties and tasks of the position include but are not limited:
- Examine vehicle and discuss with management nature and extent of damage or malfunction. Plan work procedures.
- Some medium & heavy equipment operating is preferred.
- Small engine tune up and repair
- Oil & Lube changes
- Vehicle Maintenance including replacement parts and equipment to keep fleet operational.
- Orders equipment both in person and on line for parts. Accounts for and tracks all invoices related to each piece of equipment.
- Assist in determining when equipment is at end of life and replacement required.
- Work on Golf cart fleet and golf equipment maintenance and repair
- Disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear.
- Realign and adjust front end, repair or replace shock absorbers, and solder leaks in radiator.
- Mend damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts.
- Replace and adjust headlights and install and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
- Collaborates with management by completing preventive maintenance schedules
- Reports & documents all repairs & Maintenance
Additional duties may include:
Winter snow maintenance
Forklift, skid steer, payloader and aerial lift operation as needed
Occasional delivery of supplies to different departments
All other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Preferred: HS Diploma
Required: 2-3 years of experience Preferred: 3-5 years of experience
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Body Positions: Sitting, standing for long periods.
Body Movements: Walking, turning head and torso, bending arms, wrists and legs.
Mental Requirements:
Mathematics: Must be able to do routine arithmetic calculations. Proficient computer skills in, but not limited to Word, Excel etc.
Language: Must have exceptional communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing, well enough to give instruction, communicate clearly and concisely to staff and management one on one, and in small groups.
