Job Summary:
Chulita, a Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognized modern Mexican restaurant, is seeking passionate and talented individuals to join our team as Servers/Bartender. In this role, you will create unforgettable dining experiences by providing exceptional service and showcasing our unique Alta-California-style cuisine along with vibrant mezcal and tequila selections. You'll play a key role in fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of our neighborhood.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Server:
- Guest Greeting: Greet and seat guests in a friendly and timely manner.
- Menu Presentation: Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
- Order Taking: Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
- Service Management: Serve food and beverages to guests, ensuring all needs are met throughout the dining experience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
- Dining Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area and service stations.
- Payment Processing: Process payments and handle cash transactions responsibly.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Uphold health and safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Guest Engagement: Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
As Bartender:
- Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including craft cocktails, beer, and wine.
- Mezcal and Tequila Showcase: Showcase our mezcal and tequila selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations to guests.
- Bar Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including glassware and equipment.
- Order Processing: Process orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely service during peak hours.
- Guest Engagement: Provide a friendly and welcoming experience while addressing guest needs.
- Inventory Management: Work alongside management/leadership to monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to ensure availability.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Uphold health and safety standards, including proper handling of alcohol and sanitation practices.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Training Participation: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance mixology skills and product knowledge.
Qualifications Experience:
- Previous experience as a server in a fine dining restaurant setting preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume, team oriented environment in a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages, particularly mezcal and tequila.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends & holidays.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to create a positive experience.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of steps of service and a passion for infectious hospitality
- ServeSafe Certifcation/Food Handler Certification
