Church and Union Charleston is looking for a pastry assistant to join our dynamic team.
Location: Charleston, SC
Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time
Compensation: $16-19 an hour participation in our Tip the Kitchen initiative.
The Tip the Kitchen initiative is a partnership between the guests and the restaurant, giving the guests the choice to tip the back-of-house employees for a job well done. 5th Street Group ownership partners with our guests and matches the kitchen tips up to $500 each day. The tips are in addition to your normal hourly wages.

Responsibilities include:
· Set and stock station with mise en place
· Follow recipes and standards set by the Executive Pastry Chef
· Reporting to the Pastry Chef on duty and carrying out instructions
· Making sure station and storage areas are stocked according to health code
· Cleaning workstation and prep areas
· Work with other cooks as a team to achieve excellence during service
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Culinary School training is a plus
· Experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Ability to multi-task
· Open availability including weekends and holidays
· Reliable transportation
