What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Church of the Holy Spirit?
Holy Spirit/St. Leonard has an immediate opening for a custodian. This position is responsible for cleaning tasks, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and stairwells. This work includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting and emptying trash. Required to help with event setup/teardown and moving and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The position also requires some outdoor cleanup activities such as weeding and policing the grounds around campus. The custodian will also help with snow and ice removal as needed. During summer schedule, the position may also be called upon to help with floor cleaning (stripping and waxing) and maintenance tasks such as painting.
This is a full-time position, Mon.-Fri. 7 a.m. -3:30 p.m. , although this may be subject to change. Work week will be split between both parishes. Occasional overtime during evenings and weekends may be required. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision and retirement, as well as vacation and sick time.
Qualifications: High School diploma. Knowledge of tools and products used for cleaning. Prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Able to work on a ladder also a requirement.
Valid driver's license required. All employees must pass background check and attend Safe Environment training provided by the Archdiocese.
