Resurrection has an opening for a Bakery Program Director in our Business Operations division! The position is full-time, exempt and is located at the Leawood campus at 13720 Roe Ave. Please see below for a full job description. 


Job Summary: 

The Sonflower Adult Learning Program (SALP) Bakery Program Director position provides hands-on care, supervision and support for adult participants with special needs (learners) ranging from autism, down syndrome and other physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities. Working alongside the Ministry Director, Associates, and volunteers, this position supports the Sonflower Adult Learning Program bakery activities. The SALP Bakery Program Director is responsible for assigned administrative duties and actively mentors SALP Associates and volunteers.

Position-Specific

  • Daily interaction with and direct care to learners related to activities in the bakery.
  • Collaborative participation with Ministry Director and other staff in planning and implementing weekly bakery tasks to equip and empower learners to engage in bakery activities to their full potential.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to learners and volunteers in all aspects of the bakery including but not limited to dress code, kitchen preparation, product management and cleaning.
  • Foster good communication with learners, volunteers, fellow staff members, customers, and service providers.
  • Responsible for assigned administrative duties requiring detail and accuracy including but not limited to receiving, coordinating and completing bakery orders, coordinating orders and deliveries with service providers, managing bakery inventory.
  • Lead and mentor learners, staff, and volunteers while in the bakery.
  • Provide direction and invest in bakery volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Good Communication - excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective Leadership - Ability to model for and assign tasks, training experience, and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy – knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently. Knowledge of and experience in Microsoft office software is beneficial.

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience and proven results working with individuals with special needs ranging from autism, down syndrome, and other physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to walk across the Leawood campus and lift up to 30 pounds.
