JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The support services director contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing programs and projects. Individuals experiencing homelessness are connected to the appropriate services toward the goal of housing stability. As a member of the leadership team, the support services director will be involved in a range of strategic planning and internal initiatives with an eye toward both future needs and budget realities.
Essential Functions

- Member of Leadership team, collaborates with Leadership team to improve CUFH.
- Assigns caseloads and other related duties
- Analyzes community needs to develop new programs and enhance current programs
- Directs selection and training of Case Management and Shelter Advocate staff
- Assigns work and evaluates performance of Case Management and Shelter Advocate staff
- Oversees the Case Management services at Churches United for the Homeless as well as Shelter Advocate staff

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages the Shelter Supervisor and Case Managers.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role and may require the ability to lift 20 pounds, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. On call rotation required. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience
- Degree from a college or university
Preferred major in social work - Minnesota licensure is preferred. - Two plus years of experience in human services or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Education and/or experience in a non-profit setting is preferred.
