Churchill Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resident Engineer to oversee and manage construction projects in Berlin, NJ. The ideal candidate will act as the primary on-site representative, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with the design specifications, applicable regulations, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight:
- Supervise daily construction activities to ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Serve as the main point of contact between contractors, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Review and approve contractor work plans, schedules, and deliverables.
Quality Assurance:
- Inspect and document construction progress, ensuring materials and workmanship meet quality standards.
- Identify and address any deficiencies or issues promptly.
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with designers, utility companies, and regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate regular progress meetings and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
- Address project inquiries and provide guidance to resolve on-site challenges.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Monitor compliance with permits, codes, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, test results, and change orders.
Cost and Schedule Management:
- Track project budgets and schedules, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Review and approve contractor invoices and change order requests.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, inspection, or related roles.
Skills and Certifications:- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Other Requirements:- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
