FUNCTION
The Director of Cash Operations and Money Room is responsible and accountable for the complete operation of the Money Room and Cash Operations across all departments that handle cash and other cash instruments. The Director of Cash Operations and Money Room develops and implements procedures to ensure security of all cash funds. Works closely with the Pari-Mutuel department and other departments that handle cash to ensure an efficient and economic operation, particularly in relation to the Money Room and staffing.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Responsible for and oversees all Money Room operations, including ordering bankrolls, verifying funds, creating daily deposits from operations, and creating daily cash balance reports.
- Manages, trains and enforces procedures to safeguard the company’s assets and funds.
- Responsible for developing policies and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of cash and cash instruments within the Company’s vault, including the imprest funds used for operations.
- Develops and manages a budget for the Money Room department.
- Review staffing levels in accordance with business needs and budget standards. Delegates duties and assigns responsibilities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain best practice policies and procedures as it relates to cash movement to dealers, count room activities, and record keeping.
- Development of Team Members, conducting interviews, hiring and performance evaluations.
- Manages all cash-related policies to include but not limited to corporate procedures, internal controls, and both state and federal guidelines to ensure they are being followed.
- Evaluates bankroll needs based on the company’s operations during live racing, Derby Week, and simulcasting operations.
- Coordinate and manage cash pickup and drop off for offsite properties, including any satellite locations that offer pari-mutuel wagering under the Company’s state license.
- Responsible for vendor relations associated with Money Room operations.
- Reports Cash Operations activities to the Finance and Mutuels departments.
- Meets with other Departmental Directors and Managers as necessary, and provide tools and resources needed to ensure efficient and safe operation of all cash-related activities of the Company
- Ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the property’s BSA policy, including coordination and participation with the Company’s internal audit and compliance departments to ensure adherence to all company policies.
- Works with the Pari-Mutuel Department to recruit and train full-time, part-time and seasonal Team Members for Money Room operations throughout the year, including Kentucky Derby week.
- Proficient with excel.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Five to seven years experience in money room, casino cage operations, or relevant banking preferred.
- 4-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Three or more years of leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain a valid Kentucky Racing License
