What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Churchill Estates Retirement Community?
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Tech to join our team of dedicated employees. This position will perform a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building maintenance trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, cement masonry, drywall and to include H.V.A.C and other mechanical systems for the purpose of maintaining, diagnosing and repairing.
Essential Functions
- Assists as directed by Maintenance Director in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, such as; plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, automatic temperature control, electrical, floor cleaning equipment and other equipment as needed.
- Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinish; installs or repairs carpet as needed and performs custodial duties as required.
- May perform weekly safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the residents of the facility and eliminate all hazards.
- May assist with repairs, and installing counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim; uses carpenters hand tools and power tools.
- Assists housekeeping staff with heavy cleaning or moving of items.
- Performs related duties as required
Experience/Requirements
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
- High school education; or up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
- Knowledge of construction practices and procedures; knowledge of maintenance and repair work; considerable knowledge of rough and finish carpentry techniques, supplies, equipment and their use; considerable knowledge of methods and techniques of building construction and materials, preparing walls and woodwork for various types of refinishing; thorough knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
