Job Description
Pay Range: $15.62 - $25.38 / hour
The Assistant General Manager works closely with the GM, leading by example, onboarding and training new staff members, tackling member interactions with a smile, and ensuring our inventory is spot-on. By overseeing daily operations and motivating your team, you'll ensure every day at Chuze Fitness is a fantastic experience for everyone!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in leading a team of 20-30 employees to go above and beyond in customer service, cleanliness, and culture
- Collaborate with GM to tackle escalated employee concerns in partnership with HR
- Work together with the team regarding member billing inquiries, providing guidance in difficult interactions and knowing when to escalate to the GM
- Establish and maintain productive and proactive cross-departmental communication and understanding of fitness operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting processes
- Collaborate with the GM to develop all staff members through one-on-one conversations, conducting performance reviews, and assist in coaching documentation, including and up to termination
- Run daily operations such as breaking employees for lunches and maintaining appropriate staff levels on shift, ensuring club quality assurance, and completing opening and closing responsibilities
- Maintain proficient knowledge of and assist members with all amenities, membership inquiries, fitness programs, and equipment functions
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding new talent by conducting phone screens and in-person interviews
- Secure inventory processes by prepping for weekly and monthly counts and ordering, restocking, and organizing new products

Qualifications:
Required
- 2 years experience in customer service
- 2 years experience leading a team
- Ability to work varied hours, weekends, and opening/closing shifts regularly or as needed
- Exceptional verbal and social communication skills with a teamwork-based mindset
- Excellent ability to provide a positive attitude and calm under pressure
- Ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities
- Service-based attitude
- Ability to receive and deliver feedback
- Having extreme attention to detail
- Physical Requirements:
- Able to read, write, and speak clearly in English
- Touring the club: walking and climbing stairs
- Bending, kneeling, and repetitive arm movement
- Standing for long periods
- Repetitive phone work, typing, and computer operations
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
Preferred
- High school graduate or GED
- Bachelor’s degree or currently continuing education
- Sports or fitness background
